Soy Wax

Our Soy wax is specifically developed for candles in jars. Candles made with this pure vegetable wax have a creamy appearance, smooth surface, clean combustion and a good scent throw.

This product is biodegradable and vegan friendly. No animal products are used and no animal testing has been carried out in its manufacture.

Ingredients: Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil

Appearance: flakes (100 g package), chunks (1 kg-> packages)

Congealing point 35-40°C

Melting point 45-53°C

INSTRUCTIONS

• 1. Prepare the jar / container, it should be clean and at least at room temperature.
• 2. Place the wick in the jar and secure its position using a clothespin.
• 3. Melt the wax using a double boiler, stir it while melting. Do not to heat above 85°C or for extended lengths of time.
• 4. Add the desired amount of dye or pigment along with the essential oil or fragrance oil of your choice, up to 8-10 percent, and mix well. Always use essential oils and fragrance oils with a flash point higher then 75°C.
• 5. Pour into the jar at the recommended pouring temperature of 65-70°C. Leave it to solidify slowly.
• 6. For soy wax based candles is worthwhile a 3-4 days cure time before burning for the first time.

NOTES

• Natural waxes tend to require larger wick sizes than traditional paraffin waxes. 
• Burn pool size and depth greatly affect fragrance throw so correct wicking is a must.
• Slower cooling will encourage container adhesion while quicker cooling will encourage the pull away.
• Our soy wax have reduced frost formation, however, in the event of sudden changes in temperature, like most soy waxes, it can crystallize.
• Every combination of container, wax, dye, fragrance and wick must be tested for burn quality. We suggest testing a small amount of the product before starting large-scale production.
