Lysolecithin

A special derivative of lecithin suitable for creating exquisite emulsions with high water content, that are lighter, less greasy, less film-forming and which absorbs more quickly. Brings conditioning benefits to hair. Gives a moisturised and silky sensation to the skin and hair.

Lysolecithin is an emulsifier obtained from non-genetically modified soybeans, suitable for the preparation of a wide range of emulsions with a special sensory profile.

FORMULATION GUIDE

• recommended to be included in the oil phase, with heating to 60-80°C, optimal oil phase 20-45%
• can act as a cold emulsifier, depending on the formula
• in O/W emulsions it is used at 3.0 - 6.0 % in combination with a gelling agent or stabiliser
• used as a stabilising co-emulsifier or sensory profile enhancer at 0.5 - 1 %
• the optimal dosage depends largely on the fat phase, the texture of the oils and the (non)used gelling or stabilising agent
• for the preparation of bath oils or bath bombs, it can be used up to 10%
• lysolecithin is a pure emulsifier, it does not impart viscosity to emulsions
• gives a yellowish colour to compositions, the consistency of emulsions sets after 24 hours of preparation
• in shampoos and conditioners, at an acid pH of around 5, the phospholipids in lysolecithin acts as cationic substances - an important feature for damaged hair
