DHA natural self tanner

A natural self tanning agent that enables a natural sun-kissed look all year round without sun exposure. It is ideal in self-tanning and glowing products.

The self-tanning effect of DHA is due to the coloring of the upper layer of the epidermis. Self-tanning is a skin-friendly and harmless reaction that does not need sun exposure.

BENEFITS

• gives natural and water resistant tan that gradually fades as the dead cells of the horny layer flake off
• the color change is visible within a few hours and lasts over 3-7 days
• skin coloration is proportional to the number of applications and concentration of DHA

USE RECOMMENDATIONS 

• cosmetic ingredient
• suitable to prepare face and body creams, lotions, bi-phase solutions, mousses
• repeated applications every 2 to 3 days maintains the intensity of the tan
• spread evenly the final product on clean and hydrated skin

FORMULATION GUIDE

• reccomended use level 2-5% for glow products, >5% for self-tanning products
• add to the water phase of formulations, at <40°C
• use high levels of humectants to offset drying effect on skin
• incompatibilities: mineral pigments, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, aloe vera, cocamidopropyl betaine, magnesium stearate, anionic emulsifiers, collagen, urea derivatives, aminoacides, proteines
• has a specific smell that may need to be covered with fragrance
• optimal pH 5.5 - 6.5
