FORMULATION GUIDE

• has cationic character at acidic pH up to 4.5-5.0
• when used in a shampoo it shows a strong viscosity increasing effect
• performs effectively as an auxiliary emulsifier in skin creams and lotions, but most valuable is as a conditioning agent in hair care products
• requires neutralization to ~ 4.5 with an organic acid, such as lactic acid or citric acid, to be soluble in water and be effective
• compatible with weak anionic surfactants
• add to the heated oil/emulsifier phase or in the heated acidified water phase if the formula does not contain lipids
